Bath time is one of Ford’s favorite parts of the day. It’s a relaxing time for both of us and a good transition from the dinner to bedtime. I’m partnering with Ivory today to share 4 tips for a more enjoyable bath time.
1. Toy Organizer – This is a must! My sister recently gave Ford this bath caddy and I love it! Ford actually plays with his toys on it/in it and the open nature of a caddy makes it easy for him to put away his own toys. Admittedly, I love that it is aesthetically pleasing and has a conveniently located soap dish.
2. No Phone Zone – I have a reminder on my phone that goes off every day at 5pm that says “put phone away”. This is about the time I pick up Ford from day school. Since I work full-time, I want to give Ford my full attention when we’re together. In addition to the obvious safety issues of cellphone distraction, you don’t want to miss this opportunity for quality time with your little one. Savor these moments!
3. Use Gentle Products – For bath time, we like to use pure and gentle products such as Ivory Original Body Wash. The Ivory Original Body Wash and Ivory Original 3-bar are free of dyes and heavy perfumes. We also enjoy the Ivory Free & Gentle Body Wash with Pear & Sandalwood because it contains the #1 Dermatologist-Recommended moisturizing ingredient.
4. Time’s Up & Redirect – Ford would happily play in the bath time for hours but I generally limit bath time to 15-20 minutes. To avoid tears or tantrums, I give Ford a 5 minute warning that bath time is “all done”. Sometimes I also sing the Daniel Tiger song “It’s almost time to stop…that was fun but now it’s done.” If a meltdown is still looming when times up, I ask Ford if he wants to brush his teeth which usually gets an enthusiastic nod and arms outreached to get out.
I hope these tips make bath time less stressful for you and your family! What are your bath time tips or tricks? I’d love to know! Share in the comments below. This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Ivory. The opinions and text are all mine.
