My goal for the nursery was to create a serene and soothing space. Now that I realize how much time I spend in here, I’m so thankful it is exactly that. The nursery was formerly our guest bedroom. We kept the wall color as is – Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage. I kept the neutral palette with white furniture and gray accents. Knowing the nursery would be a high traffic (and potentially messy) room, I opted for Dash & Albert’s washable indoor/outdoor rug.
I designed the custom crib bedding, glider, and pillows with Angela at Doodles. I took in a wildlife scarf with a gray border that was my inspiration for the room (and currently still being framed). After deciding on a large gray buffalo check, Angela helped me pull the rest of the room together and offered great advice. There are so many fabric, crib, and glider options, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. I was so thankful for her expertise!
Pottery Barn Kids has the perfect collection of baskets and liners. I have five on the changing table shelves to hold burp clothes, rattles & animals, blankets, extra crib sheets & changing pads, and sleep sacks. The diaper caddy sits on top and organizes all the necessities. I have one extra basket for books and then also the laundry hamper. And I couldn’t pass up the coordinating roman shades!
There are still a couple things that need to be done before I consider the nursery officially complete. We are going to add clear bookshelves in the narrow wall space above the lax stick. The antique egg & nest prints (purchased at Round Top) will move above the changing table and the scarf being framed will go in it’s place. And Scott wants to hang some deer antlers 🙂
Thank you to Dash & Albert and MDB Playroom for partnering on this post.
What a beautiful and peaceful nursery for that sweet baby boy! He is beautiful, too!
Thank you!
